Threw about a dozen smaller whites and some small eyes back, kept two whites two nice crappies, and one 21 inch eye for the pan. Caught fish every spot I stopped moved in between the two groups out from Noefkees and caught most of the fish including this 16"+ 2.6 pound crappie that will be on the wall

fished friday in the group on the inside bend of indian point, 4 fow, caught 8 walleye missed a few more. decided to return to indian point today even though the group moved over to herbst landing side. we ended up with 6 more walleye and missed plenty more, they are biting very light it seems. using raps and small spoons. minnow heads or no bait both are working.

Went out of Noffkes for a quick jaunt this afternoon. He has excellent conditional info, a nicely plowed tree-lined ice road, and has graciously marked the east-west crack with wood at the end of the tree line. Well worth the 2 buck launch fee! Lots of people catching fish today right off the road. Threw back small whites, goats, and mini-eyes. Fish caught on a variety of baits. That cold-water cat will be tops in the hot grease! PLEASE harvest selectively!

First I'll answer my own question, yes driving off noffkes is no problem. I saw every variety of vehicle out there today from minivans to two door compacts. Yet somehow I got hung up in a drift just off the tree road. Thanks to the two guys who helped push.

As a first timer on poygan I'll rephrase my question and ask if and where are spots to avoid driving? Where is the bad ice in conditions like these? I liked the noffkes landing but didn't have too much luck today just one medium sized crappie. Where are other good spots to get on?

I used every kind of bait today - raps n spoons for jigging with and without worms. Live minnows on bare hooks and jigs for dead sticks.

I don't know the exact ice depth. My scoop is about 18in deep and I couldn't hook the bottom of the ice without getting my sleeve wet.

Another awesome bite today. Moved 3 times got them in each spot for awhile. Spoons raps bait no bait it didn't seam to matter. Caught over 30 walleye let a few small ones go and a few over 20 inches go and watched my customer loose a 8lber at the top of the hole as his buddy let it slip threw his hands. We did get a 14.5inch crappie that my customer is going to mount. If your looking to get in on the hot bite, call me at 2623053938 or check out my website http://nolanstopguncharters.com

FISHING REPORT

Ice Depth: 15" Conditions: Cloudy Air Temp: 26° - 30° F
After a skunk up on the bay for whitefish, I couldn't give up and hit Poygan for a few hours (2:30-5:00). As soon as I put the Marcum in I thought the thing was on the fritz, because it was lit up like a Christmas tree. Threw a UV rap down and pounded a few whites immediately, then threw a chartreuse pimple down (only because I broke the treble on the rap and I didn't want to screw around), and caught another few whites and a big crappie. After that things cooled off pretty quick, and had to work to scratch a few more out before dark. I continued to mark them, but the bite definitely tapered off for me and those in my immediate vicinity that I could see fishing. I changed baits probably 20 times after the initial flurry and never found any sort of pattern, I think it was more a matter of fish being active/not than anything else Also had two flags just before dark, but both were swing n' misses.

Travel was very good, although I was never more than 100 yards away from the road that heads out from Noeffke's so don't take that as any sort of green light. That's a nice bait shop by the way, always a nice report and friendly folks running the place.

Last- to the guys that feel the urge to drive 50mph down the tree road off the ice, please don't do that- it doesnt do the ice any good.

Great day on Poygan! Setup in three spots today catching fish in all spots but in the third spot hit the jackpot. Before I could get my holes drilled a buddy had his vex in the water and said if was lighting up. As soon as I got mine down same thing. Managed a nice bucket of crappie walleye and whitebass. Followed the school for a while but lost them. No real hot bait as everyone seemed to catch fish on their favorite bait.

Went off from Duck Inn and fished from 7 to 2 with a pit stop at the Knot Anchor in Tustin. The bridge the sportsmen's club put out at Indian Point is helpful. Lots of lookers, no takers. Big crowd so somebody must have found them!

good day poygan anglers. fishing was great for me and a few others I fished with today. started by targeting pike and landed 4 in the first hour on a spot lower on the system. I kept a 28 and 29 saw numorous fish caught. fished with the group off herbst for a couple hours and landed some nice fish one eye 20'' and a handful of crappies and whitebass. talked to some other anglers catching pike and even whitebass on medium shiners!! I should've known when I saw a dogfish caught while pike fishing, those things are suppose to be asleep by now. the catfish were biting well on poygan also. I hear puckaway was a big success today too with a lot of 20 plus inch eyes and upper 30 inch pike on the board by noon. great day to fish. good fishing silverfish.

Oops! I misread that. That is where I'm going my next day off, though. Will report then.

LOST and hopefully found! On sunday the 22nd, while leaving poygan, north of the horseshoe and West of the wolf river mouth. We left the lake on nofkee's boat landing at dusk, my fish finder went missing. I have a feeling it might have bounced out of the bed of the truck on the way up the steep and bumpy boat landing. If anyone might have picked it up, please contact me with a pm and I can describe make, model, and how I had it set up. I even have the serial number. It's a horrible feeling not knowing. Thank you and good luck fishing.
