FISHING REPORT

Clarke, if you like white bass you can catch them til your arm falls off. Just follow the birds (cant miss them), usually close to shore around 3-5fow. Caught 12 whites and 3 cats on 3-5 size mepps in less than 2 hours in the evening. Color didn't matter. Even if you don't eat them they are fun to catch. Had a cat straighten out my hooks and got a 18" channel in after I took out the musky rod.

Launched at Boom Bay boat landing. 7:15am start. Drift fished the lake using slip bobbers / jig / crawler combo no bites. Caught a few 3lb Channel Cats in the adjacent wolf river on this set up.

All the lakes are pretty dirty. It's been very windy all week since Tuesday. Couldn't do any fishing on Poygan with the waves.

Was on the south shore this morning. Looked like chocolate milk. Good luck trolling. Water is warm.

I was just wondering if anyone has any updates on the trolling bite on Poygan? I'm thinking about heading out there tomorrow am. Mainly wondering if there are still a few walleyes roaming around. Thanks for any replies.

FISHING REPORT

Conditions: Partly Sunny Air Temp: 81° - 88° F Water Temp: Above 80° F
After striking out on Wed evening the 22nd, I decided to try again Sunday afternoon. Stayed in 5-7 fow and managed to get 3 keepers 16-22 inches using yellow glow spin harnesses. There was enough cloud cover to make it tolerable, and the south wind picked up slightly later in the afternoon. Temps at the surface were just over 80 so I'm wondering we are nearing the end until fall.

Not too green on the west end on 7/21. Got out at 8am and got one 20"keeper, a short, a few white bass up to 15", and foul hooked a 25" cat which took 10 min. to net. All on harness's. Surface temp was 74 and it was windy enough out of the nw that I could not troll east of Old Indian Point.

Was able to get out last thur and fri mornings and the fishing was awesome. used harnesses with bottom bouncers and stayed in 4-6' of water. Have heard other guys using flickers in 4-6' of water and doing well also. Have to find them and then game on. Amazing they are still in shallow but will see what this hot weather does to them in the coming weekend. Good luck out there.

I was limited to drifting this past weekend and got out Saturday and Sunday morning from 6:30-10:30. Had two small eyes, several goats and a few kitty cats to show for it.

Casting a crank and dragging crawlers.
