I try that just about every time I go out. Doesn't seem to work as well for me as it does for Ernie though lol. Maybe I need to wear a colorful shirt like he has, or get a fishing partner with a unibrow Big Smile

FISHING REPORT

Ice Depth: 11" Conditions: Cloudy Air Temp: 26° - 30° F
2 eyes,1 whitey, and 1 crappie. The eyes were to small so they're still swimming . I moved several times and marked a lot fish, but they weren't biting. Saw 1 truck and a few cars on the ice. I wouldn't risk driving out until there is 15" of ice. 11" of ice + a lot of cracks that are not cracked all the way through + a vehicle over 1000 lbs. Yeah, I can wait.

Yes u can still drive an atv out. Couple days of warm weather isn't going to ruin 11" of ice.

Sounds like Poygan is kicking everyone's *!#. The day you decide to go somewhere else is usually the day it turns on. I was out last Sunday and caught a few, but they were on the move. Eventually they will school up and then hold on tight. Smile

First and foremost, THANK YOU to the guy with the Camo Yamaha Kodiak who not only gave me a lift out near the middle of Poygan but then checked back to see if I wanted a ride back in. It was greatly appreciated! Now, for the fishing report. Like another poster said earlier, SLOW is the word. At least for me is certainly was. Hole hopped for a good portion of the morning and afternoon only to mark a few fish. No takers though. We lost a couple of inches of ice from the warm up a few days ago but it's still solid enough to drive 4 wheelers on it. For those of you who are getting into some good fish on Poygan, I commend you! I can only hope that the bite picks up soon and the fishing, definitely not the weather, warms up!

Tight lines and stay safe!
