Going out on Thursday bring a guy new to fishing any pointers for panfish or walleys? Just want to make sure he has fun?

Nice out on the water this morning. Caught 14 walleyes from 15-23" most on harnesses in 4-6 ft. of water. A few sheeps and cats but not as many as a few weeks ago. The water is still pretty turbid so UV, glows, and bright colors worked best for us.

Happy Father's Day to all you dads out there. What a great day it is. Got the boat back and went out in the the fog this morning. Got our limit pulling harness in 4.5 foot of water. Speed was important, had to be going 1.4 today. Kids coming out after strawberry pickin and the oil will be hot when they get here. Just can't ask for a better day.

Hit the water at 445 this morning. Fished primarily the east end of Poygan. It was a solo trip today. I still did pretty good. Started pulling cranks at 25-30fbb. Caught a few cats before the sunrise. Then a double up with 2 walleye. Slowed down a bit. Then I tried harnesses. The sheephead were more aggressive then. Also managed a few walleye on those. Switched back to cranks at 830. The wind started picking up a bit and so did the fishing. Must have came across a school of crappie and walleye. Pulled in 5 walleye in 20 minutes out in the shoe and 3 crappie. I was 39fbb when I had the last flurry of fish. I would also like to say thanks to the guys who helped me load my boat. It got pretty nasty quick.

Was out playing around today with the neighbor and caught 15 all still swimin. Was searching for something different from what was doing. Found fish along north shore, trolling harnesses, of coarse. Slowed down a little though. Was at 1.2 today. Won't be posting for a while due to motor getting repaired. Herd reports of others working shoreline and doing well also.

Started trolling this a.m around 530. Within 10 minutes we were doubled up. With both being walleye. One was a dandy at 22". Ended with a total of 15 only kept 6. We trolled smash shads. Anywhere from 17-35fbb. We had are best action from 530-8. Good luck out there.

Made it out today by 5am. We pulled mainly smash shads anywhere from 25-40fbb. Speed varied anywhere from 1.7-2.1mph. Ended the day with 9 walleye(only kept 4). About a dozen whitebass kept. A couple cats. And to many sheepies to count! All in all it was a great day on the water.

Tried something different today. Tried fishing the submerged weeds in 4 to 5 foot of water with crawler harnesses. Did fantastic, with purple being the hot color today. Caught nearly twenty walleye but only kept a few for the pan. Speed varied between 1.2-1.5. Had a lot of bite offs and some break offs. Was an excellent four hours on the water.

Don't need a marine radio, but if you have one it won't hurt you any. Make sure to have #4 Salmos in your arsenal on this lake! Viking, dalmation, hollywood, blue/holographic, perch, firetiger, and purples to list some good ones. Don't just fish the middle of the lake, and like any other body of water, pay attention to the wind and it'll direct you to the fish. Good fishing in Lake Winneconne, too. Good luck!

Looking to get started trolling on poygan. A few questions, do I need a marine radio? Have a fire extinguisher already. I've never fished here before. It's just a big bowl correct? Flicker shads, lindy shadlings, shad raps, wally divers, etc should all work correct?

Haven`t bee on Poygan for a few weeks because local crappie bite on small lakes near me has been crazy!! But did go yesterday off Indian Point. Nice south wind so started in front of Captains cove all the way back to Indian point with only 2 white bass but they were huge so in the livewell they went. Next started in front of "I still call it Herbst barn" and trolled to alder creek. 3 more huge whitebass in the livewell, 1 small walleye back in the drink, then a huge walleye and being by myself had hard time to net it. Finally got it in the boat and laid it in the net on top of livewell and just started to reach for it and guess what!!! Yup it flipped back in the drink Dam !! So that was it, all whitebass on cheap lindy chad colored deep diver, walleyes on crawler harness , green.

Hey trolling for walleye" I tried to reply but won`t work. keeps rejecting my reply HUH?
