I fished the river again Saturday morning & caught plenty of perch. The only other fish I caught was 1 smaller crappie. Most perch still around 7'' but a few are 8''.

I fished the river this morning for a few hours. When I got there the city had just opened up 1 chute of the dam. I didn't catch anything for about the first 30 minutes & was about ready to quit when I caught a perch. They started biting & kept biting until I left. Most were around 7'' but I did get a few over 8''. The only other fish I caught besides perch was 1 bullhead.

I was fishing up by the dam when I caught the perch but you can also get some down river in certain spots.

skyhi88, The dam is on the south end of Beaver Dam Lake right in downtown Beaver Dam. There should be some fish biting in the river. Last weekend there were actually some real nice crappies biting & you seem to always catch small walleyes lately.

Just curious, fished the lake numerous times before so don't need real tips, but what side of the lake is the dam on? Ive only ice fished the lake and did ok, looking to do a little shore fishing before calling her quits for the year. Don't need specifics, maybe just a north, south etc and I should be able to go from there. Just found out my girl has a little fisherman in her, and she wants to get out before shes too big for ice fishing Sad

Yeah I see that now lol. My bad was on my phone. But what I meant to say or ask is, where can a guy find some pannies or eyes on the river? Below the Damn, water treatment place? I'm only 17 years old, but I'm a big time fisherman, and am currently struggling..... Want to get my girl on some fish, for a meal, with size to fish. Been hitting below the damn hard lately, standing right underneath the bridge and get eyes. I actually caught my only legal eye on a rosie, going after crappies. Have used medium shiners, and only getting 9-12" walleyes, and lots of em! Just looking for some advice fellas, any is more than greatly appreciated! Tight lines.

Anguish and Panties? Anguish can happen when you don't catch fish for a long period of time and for panties.... probably have better luck in a dresser then the river. Big Smile Wink Spell check buddy

I fished the river on & off all weekend. I caught a few nice crappies & a couple okay perch otherwise most fish were small. I did catch 3 pike this morning & 2 of the 3 were 22'' which was nice to see. Also caught small walleyes, bullheads, catfish, & gills. No dogfish this weekend.

I fished the river again the last 3 mornings. Fish didn't bite as good as last weekend but I still caught plenty of fish. Most were small & I caught crappies, gills, bullheads, walleyes, catfish, dogfish, carp, & pike.

I'll have to admit, I'm a musky hunter with a serious carp fly fishing problem.

Headed south to visit a friend (a trout fisher with a carp fly fishing problem too) and we fished for about 6 hours catching these on average 2 footers non-stop. WHAT A BLAST! Go to set the hook on a fish and the whole school erupts, and hold on! Awesome head shakes and powerful drag pulling runs.

Hate to break it to you musky anglers, but these carp have 10X the fight of any musky.... Big Smile

Casted a steelhead yarn fly all day. Downsized when the sun came out. Bead headed nymphs were working too. Cast precisely, otherwise they all spook...very line shy fish.
